Project Ole:Outdoor Education for Students and Community of SFC

Since 2013, the San Francisco Community School has participated in Education Outside, a program committed to advancing science in public schools by transforming school gardens into living outdoor classrooms, teaching a standards-based curriculum during the school day. The goal of the program is to bring hands-on, experiential science and environmental education as a part of the regular school day, throughout the school year. Due to budget cuts at SFUSD, this program will be discontinued for the 2017-2018 school year unless replacement funding can be identified. With a grant from SFPA, they will be able to cover the shortfall and continue to offer this important program for a high-need community.
